About Me
I didn't get better overnight. and i'm not done.
I’m Tobias Neal.I’ve carried trauma, loss, pain, and a whole damn legacy of things I didn’t ask for.I tried the self-help noise. I tried numbing out.
None of it worked. So I got honest. I let myself hurt. I let myself heal.I started telling the truth to myself, to others, and out loud. This site isn’t about fixing you. It’s about walking beside you.
What I Do
I speak from the wounds & wisdom
I speak about healing. Not the pretty kind. The kind that comes from lived pain, generational hurt, trauma, and identity reconstruction.Topics I share from:- Growing through trauma and grief- Resilience and recovery- Holding space for others without losing yourself- The radical power of listening, to yourself and othersWant to collaborate or bring me to speak?
Bitter to Better
Not a Brand.
A Lifeline.
I was bitter for a long time, and for good reasons. But I didn’t want to stay there.Bitter to Better is the phrase I kept coming back to.Not because it sounded nice, but because it’s what happened.Slowly. Messily. With a lot of grief, and a lot of grace.I don’t offer a polished version of healing.I offer what’s real.
What I've Learned
Healing Taught Me:
You can’t heal what you won’t face.Growth doesn’t always feel like progress. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to rage. The story doesn’t end with bitterness. You don’t owe anyone a polished version of your pain.Healing isn't linear, black or white, and certainly has dualities to it.I share a lot of this and more on Instagram.
What People Are Saying
I Don't need a spotlight, I need a mirror
What people say about me reflects what I’ve made space for in them. You don’t build trust by talking at people, you earn it by showing up, over and over. Every word below comes from someone who’s felt seen, heard, or held in a moment that mattered. That’s the work. That’s the why.
"Tobias is one of those rare people who just gets it, deeply, honestly, and without judgment. He meets people with compassion, humor, and grounded support, using his own journey to bridge the gap between those with substance use disorder and those without. He helps people feel comfortable with the uncomfortable, and that kind of education is essential."
- Harm Reduction MI Conference Coordinator
"Tobias Neal you are unreal!! It is such an honor to get to stand beside someone like you and learn from you!! You sir, are built different! You’re from another advanced time and world I swear!! I salute you!! I’ll follow you into battle anytime and anywhere!!"
- Activities Coordinator at Bear River Health
“Tobias is engaging, supportive, and seasoned. His message was spot-on for recovery, and his presence was a perfect blend of realness and relevance. The audience not only listened, they felt respected. That matters. I’d recommend him to speak anywhere, to any crowd.”
Program Coordinator, NMRE Day of Education
